Ghost Train Willy Sketch Group was formed in 2008 by five Improvisers / Actors / Comedians / Writers, Danny Kehoe, Sharon Mannion, Lisa Garvey, Eoghan McLaughlin and Graeme Singleton. Their aim was to create fresh innovative comedy that would be presented in sketch format, both on film, and also live at comedy clubs and theatres throughout the country.
Their ascent to becoming one of the most sought after acts on the Irish Comedy Circuit was fast, and they continue to gig regularly at comedy clubs and festivals throughout the country; The Bulmers International Comedy Festival, The Gonza Tent @ The Flat Lake Festival, The Paddy Laughs Festival @ The Mill Theatre, The Laughter Lounge, The International Comedy Club, The Bankers Comedy Club, Anseo, Ha’Penny, Sugar Club, The New Theatre, Twisted Pepper and many many more, receiving rave reviews as they go.
GTW are regular contributors to ‘Republic of Telly’ (RTE), having appeared on the last four series. They are also the hidden camera team on Zig & Zags Super Bloopers (RTE), have had their work featured on DCTV, Newstalk radio, ‘Eat My Shorts’ @ Castlepalooza and continue to have a strong online following
GTW have been heavily involved in various charity events throughout the city, helping to raise several thousand euro for vital organisations such as Crumlin Children’s Hospital, Safety Net, Oxfam, PIETA House, Cancer Research, Concern and Trocaire to name but a few.
